Melton Town Centre

Aligning a multitude of existing civic landmarks into a comprehendible whole was a key driver of the Melton Town Centre design philosophy.

With a newly built library at its centre, other existing civic elements including an amphitheatre, carpark, sculpture and performance spaces were exposed as needing a legible and inclusive design that made sense of their public purposes. A restrained yet inventive landscape was developed lending order to the many civic elements of the space and enabling greater public ‘ownership’ of the town centre now and into the future. A city heart that Melton can take pride in.
