Birmingham Park

Situated in a highly urbanized part of Yarraville, this dead-end street between two primary school campuses was an opportunity for a connecting green, break-out space for the school, while at the same time maintaining openness and usability for the local community.

The project maintained the connecting cycle route and pedestrian paths, and separated these from the quieter seating areas and grassy spaces by a linear stormwater capture reed bed. Outlines worked closely with Council to design cushman furniture into the project, with the outcome being a highly individual and textured space that works day and night.
