The Bastow Institute is a state of the art facility which will provide teacher training facilities. It is a flagship project for the DEECD, and the first of its kind in Australia. The project involves an extensive contemporary extention and refurbishment by Maddison Architects of the heritage listed North Melbourne Primary School, built in 1882.

Outlines have provided consultancy services for landscape works which provide an integrated response to the site and built form.

This project was completed in 2012 and was the recipient of 2012 Victorian State Architecture Awards for Maddison Architects.
